Boardwalk Bathrooms Renovation
Civic
The CRDA initiated a renovation project to seven bathrooms located along the Atlantic City Boardwalk after years of complaints from tourists about the poor conditions. In an effort to become a more family-friendly destination, it was of utmost importance to improve the restrooms and bring them up to a much higher standard for visitors. The newly refreshed and refurbished comfort stations now feature touchless toilets, faucets, soap dispensers and hand dryers. The design includes tile floors and walls in neutral hues with warm accents to tie back to the Boardwalk and keep the materials and color palette of the various restroom facilities consistent. The Mississippi Avenue location is a registered historic building. The project team worked closely with the New Jersey State Historic Preservation Office throughout the design process to ensure historical integrity.
