Delaware State University Administration and Student Services Building
Educational
Delaware State University chose to create a new "front-door"
by constructing a new building near the main entrance along
Route 13. The overarching concept was to provide students with
convenient access to all support services while also
consolidating administrative functions scattered around the
campus. The result is a striking signature building that
speaks to DSU's forward-thinking mission, creating the right
kind of first impression needed for this leading academic
institution.
Critical to the unification of the precinct surrounding this
key building was the need for closure of a nearby road and
creation of a landscape plazas. The result is a "front door"
totally transformed into a unified and welcoming setting,
respectful of the University’s heritage and importance as one
of America’s first land-grant, historically black institutions
of higher learning.
